Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Jessica Psonak is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Maryland, preceded by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Drexel University. Dr. Psonak began her nursing career in 2013 in medical oncology, where she developed a dedication to helping cancer patients and their families cope with life challenges and grief. She further discovered her passion for mental health, caring for adolescent and adult clients in the field of psychiatry, in hospital and clinic settings.
Dr. Psonak strives to help clients reach their maximum level of functioning, achieve their personal goals, and reduce suffering through collaborative individualized treatment plans. Dr. Psonak has expertise in diagnosing and treating various mental health disorders, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, amongst others. She appreciates the impact that mental illness has on an entire family, as well as the connection between physical and mental health. She offers a compassionate and nonjudgemental approach to caring for clients of all backgrounds, cultures, and ages.
Dr. Psonak is an advocate for self-care to promote mental wellbeing, which she practices through hiking, trail running, and yoga.
